Emil Peter - Forester

Emil is an ISA certified arborist who graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Forestry specializing in GIS and Remote Sensing. While attending Purdue, Emil worked closely with the Purdue Extension office promoting Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, and proper tree care.

Upon graduation, he worked for the USDA Forest Service completing forest inventory analysis work and speaking with the public about forest resources and management across the mid-west. Emil moved on to work for the University of Wisconsin Forest Landscape Ecology Lab doing inventory and survey work as well as performing a GIS forest inventory of pre-European settlement of the upper Mid-west river valleys. Afterwards, he went to work for Intermap Technologies, Inc. as a Survey Technician surveying locations across the world for control points for aerial elevation data coverage; next, as a Radar Operator, he was collecting the aerial elevation data while flying in a variety of aircraft; and finally as a GIS Data Engineer utilizing the data to produce geographic data sets for GPS and Personal Navigation Device manufacturers.

Emil and his family moved to Memphis in 2009 for his wife to begin her residency at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. Emil’s passion for trees, tree care, the management of plant health care, and educating others in the community about these is ready to meet your needs. Feel free to contact him for any and all tree care and plant management needs or concerns.
